Sunshine Manufacturing was originally established in 1998 in Port Alfred as Sunshine Joinery, and specialised in the manufacture of garage doors and purpose made joinery.
The company changed hands in 2014 and then began trading as Sunshine Manufacturing.
During 2015 the factory was relocated to Deal Party in Port Elizabeth in order to move into larger premises and to have closer proximity to raw material.
We are a timber manufacturing company that manufactures prefabricated engineered roof trusses, both purpose made or custom joinery as well as volume driven windows, doors, and door frames.
We produce a large variety of timber mouldings that include ceiling and flooring boards, a wide variety of skirting mouldings as well as many other moulding profiles.
Sunshine offers a variety of timber mouldings in both hard and soft woods. These products are carried in stock so that orders can be expedited on demand.
Sunshine Manufacturing has specialised in purpose made and custom joinery since it was first established.
In terms of purpose made products we manufacture virtually any kind of custom made doors including pivot doors, sliding, and folding doors and panel doors.
We manufacture quality through mortise and tenon PWD doors for all sorts of applications.
When it comes to windows we manufacture sliding and mock sash, both top and side hung and cottage pane windows in any sizes.
We also manufacture any size of door frame with side lights.
We have over 5000m2 under cover and 2000m2 of open yard space, and we have laid the facility out in the most efficient and productive manner possible.
The factory has been subdivided into several areas to assign specific manufacturing responsibilities. The purpose made machining and assembly area has been separated from the high-volume windows, doors, and door frame zone. This allows each aspect to work individually without impeding the productivity of the other.
We have a total staff compliment of 65 employees most of whom have specialised experience in the joinery industry.
The sections of the factory that handle volume based products have been set up to maximise efficiency and productivity while at the same time ensure consistency of quality.
Our manufacturing process is audited to ensure that standards are adhered to and quality is maintained.
With regards to the quality of the doors that we produce we manufacture in accordance with SANS 545 (South African National Standards for Doors) when specified.
Our manufacturing processes are inspected and audited by SATAS (South African Technical Auditing Services) to ensure that the standards and test procedures are met and adhered to.
This ensures both the consistency and the quality of our product and gives our clients piece of mind and allows us to offer a 5-year guarantee (should installation guidelines be followed).
Sunshine procures and imports its rough sawn timber and other products directly from our partners internationally.
We have established these supply lines and relationships over years and as a result are able to ensure both continuity and quality of our raw materials.
The mills practice environmental responsibility and as such need to adhere to a strict code of conduct to be able to be accredited with the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) approval. This council promotes and regulates the responsible management of the world’s forests.
We manufacture custom joinery out of a variety of species that include Meranti, Pine, Iroko, Teak, Spruce and Oak.
Volume joinery uses primarily Meranti but we do also supply some Pine products.
The mouldings that we offer are available in Pine and Meranti.
